Building upon a long and successful career in high technology engineering, working at senior level in sales, marketing and business management, Doug Woodbridge founded Katana Consulting in 2015 with the aim of providing affordable expertise in Strategic Marketing services to SMEs and the objective of enabling businesses to flourish.
Doug Woodbridge, founder of Katana Consulting, has a strong engineering background and specializes in strategic B2B sales, marketing & business development. His career was largely forged in Sheffield where he gained his MBA and has lived and worked for the last 25-years. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and can proudly claim to be one of the very first to be awarded the coveted title of ‘Chartered Marketer’.
During his extensive and successful career in Sales, Marketing & Strategic Business Development he has worked with many well known high tech companies serving diverse market sectors including: Oil & Gas, Energy, Food and Beverage, Fine Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals, General Process, Utilities, Steel and Metals. This has given Doug a unique insight and perspective into delivering excellence in B2B product and solution sales and marketing.
Most recently he served as a Director of S3 ID Limited and Head of Sales and Marketing for the S3 ID Group where he was responsible for business development and marketing strategy throughout the companies formative years. His work there helped underpin the businesses global expansion and achieve a remarkable average annual growth rate in excess of 140% P.A. repeated over more than three successive years culminating with S3 ID winning the Yorkshire Region ‘Best SME Manufacturing award’ and the overall Best Business ‘Grand Prix’ at the INSIDER International Trade Awards in 2012. In 2013 the company grew yet again with Doug being instrumental in securing the companies largest ever project order for its cutting-edge patented active RFID technology worth over £4M. Further growth continued in 2014 being marked by S3 ID winning the ‘Excellence in International Trade Awards’ for both The Barnsley & Rotherham and Sheffield regions.
